Okay, so Richardo Tisci cites 'Victorian Chola' as his inspiration for his latest collection, but let's face facts; ain't no-one been rocking baby hair as hard as singer FKA Twigs.

On first sight, this is a collection with so much to take in, but, me being me, I'm going to focus on the face and hair first. Super glad that Ricardo Tisci picked my fave backstage and editorial mua Pat McGrath. She is the one who starts the trends that many others follow, as far as I'm concerned. For the Givenchy show Pat made sure the models' skin was flawless, almost painterly, in a bid to ensure that all eyes were on the stunning face jewellery. As well as bejewelled septum rings (first seen in Givenchy campaigns back in 2012), nose rings and multiple earrings, all made from tiny 'pearls', jet and emeralds, each model also had what looked like 3D tattoos beneath their eyes, on their cheeks (like cute dimples) and beneath their bottom lips.  Adding to the embellishment was the pretty arrangement of baby hair on each models face. Hair pro Luigi Murenu sculpted curlicues and fine baby hair fringes at the front, while the rest of the hair was swept back in an otherwise severe style. While I get the whole Chola link, I do wish someone would address the resemblance with what has been Brit singer FKA Twigs' signature style for the past year or two. This girl gives exotic goddess EVERY DAY, and there's no doubt in my mind that someone in the Givenchy camp has been watching her; she's also been shot in a few Givenchy looks if I'm not mistaken, for recent magazine shoots.

Anyway, back to the collection! Ricardo Tisci continues to work on what he loves, a Gothic glamour vibe, something that has appeared throughout his work since his first collection 10 years ago. Think mourning attire, and you're halfway there. Corsets, peplum, velvet and lace, in shades of black (obvs), scarlet, deep navy and peacock green were all assembled in a structured homage to Victoriana. All I want is those earrings...
